Prepare Your Motorcycle for Every Season: Maintenance Guide
The weather directly affects your scooter's performance and durability. Adapting your maintenance to the seasons will ensure a safe ride and prolong your vehicle's life.
1. Winter Preparation
Check the tyres (pressure, tread for better grip in the wet), battery (cold drains it faster), lights (essential on dark days), and antifreeze (if it applies to your model).
2. Summer Preparation
Check fluid levels (especially coolant), tyre pressure (heat expands them), and the condition of the brakes and clutch for intensive use.
3. Cleaning and Protection
Clean your scooter regularly to prevent the build-up of dirt and salt (in winter). Apply protective products to the bodywork and metal parts.
4. Storage
If you're going to store your scooter for a long period, especially in winter, be sure to disconnect the battery or use a battery tender, and cover it to protect it from dust and moisture.
