Basic Maintenance for Your Combustion Motorcycle: Extend Its Lifespan
Keeping your combustion motorcycle in good condition not only guarantees your safety, but also prolongs its lifespan and optimises its performance. Here’s a basic maintenance guide you can do yourself.
1. Fluid Levels
Regularly check the level of your oil, brake fluid, and coolant. Make sure they are within the recommended levels and change them according to the manufacturer's specifications.
2. Tyre Pressure and Condition
Check your tyre pressure at least once a week and adjust it according to the manual. Inspect the tyres for irregular wear, cracks, or embedded objects.
3. Brakes
Check the wear of the brake pads and discs. Make sure the brake and clutch levers have the proper free play and that the braking system responds correctly.
4. Lights and Signals
Check that all the lights (headlights, indicators, brake light) and the horn are working correctly. This is vital for your visibility and safety.
